Happy Monday! I hope you’re staying warm in this snowy weather. Apparently this is the most snow we’ve gotten in a two years in Arlington, which is a little crazy considering there’s only an inch on so our patio table. Naturally Rishil thinks we’re in the middle of a record-breaking blizzard.
After last week’s first episode of Monday Musts, I really appreciate all of the kind feedback you’ve given me! If you want to be notified every time I post a new episode, please put your email in at the bottom of the page. Alright, onto the reason we’re all here, my 5 favorite things this week.
1. P50 toner:
I’ve seen this French favorite all over Tik Tok and Instagram (obviously the most reliable sources for beauty products), and managed to find a bottle at Sarah Akram skincare. It stung a little at first, but my skin has been noticeably clearer and glowier. It’s a bit of a splurge but you only need a tiny bit each night, so I think it’s worth it!
We have one week left for DC’s restaurant week, and I’ve taken every opportunity to try places and give restaurants our business. Chloe is without a doubt the best deal I’ve come across. For $55 a person you get everything from their famous Hamachi crudo, to their salt and vinegar potatoes, to a gorgeous Asian-inspired roasted chicken, to a cheesecake that I can’t stop thinking about. They have a great bottle of Fortress Cabernet Sauvignon that pairs perfectly with all of this. If you can get a reservation, please go!
Growing up, I was never much of a jeans person because I could never find some that fit me well. I ordered these on a whim from Madewell and as soon as I put them on I was hooked. They come in a petite inseam which work well on my 5’3” frame, and this wash is a perfect neutral that can be dressed up or down. They often have some sort of sale but I would definitely pay full price for these, they’re true gems.
I took a recent trip to Sephora to replace my broken highlighter, and came across Selena Gomez’s new beauty line called Rare. I feel like every celebrity has created one, so I was going to Keep My Hands to Myself and walk right by it. I think one of the makeup consultants could tell I was feeling a little Vulnerable, so they told me to Slow Down and asked what I needed. She steered me over to Selena’s highlighters and told me to Come & Get It. Once she swatched the shade called “Mezmerize” I was like I Can’t Keep My Hands to Myself and immediately brought one over to the register. I’ve used it multiple times since I got it, and it gives me the most gorgeous lit-from-within glow. What can I say, The Heart Wants What It Wants….
This is my go to pasta sauce that I can find in nearly every grocery (Giant, Whole Foods, etc.). Add a little cream and you have a good vodka sauce, add chili flakes for arrabiata, and use it as pizza sauce for the perfect margherita.
